Tribal Yoga Studio

Studio Policies

  • We require a minimum of two students to hold class. This policy is in place for the safety of both our students and our staff. Unplanned private sessions could lead to people entering into situations that they are not comfortable with. The yoga world is full of so many wonderful kind-hearted people but the unfortunate truth is that not everyone is as kind and wonderful as we would like them to be. We do not want anyone to be in a situation that requires them to proclaim their discomfort with another person one on one so we do not allow unplanned private sessions to occur. We hope that you will appreciate our efforts to keep everyone safe.
  • Age Limits:
    • Students under the age of 18 must have a legal guardian sign the physical copy of our class participation waiver.
    • Anyone under the age of 12 is not permitted to participate in any class not specifically listed as children’s or family yoga. *Exceptions can be made for private sessions.
    • Students ages 12-15 require a legal guardian participating in the class with them. We do not allow anyone to observe our classes. Everyone in the room must participate.
    • Out of respect for our teachers and students, we discourage tardiness. Please arrive early and ready to practice on time.
      • When the receptionist is not at the front desk, there is a 3 minute grace period. After that time, the door will be locked, to ensure our students’ safety and allow the class to start as close to on time as possible.
      • When there is a receptionist on duty, there is a 7 minute grace period that will allow students to enter a class late if there is space available. Additionally, it is at the teacher’s discretion if they will allow anyone to enter late on a particular day. This is for the safety of the entering student who will not be properly warmed up to begin the practice late as well as the comfort of the students who are already in class practicing.
  • Classes, memberships, or workshops purchased cannot be returned or transferred between persons.
  • We only allow water, a towel, a yoga mat, and any props you need for practice back in the studio. We do not allow any shoes, phones, wallets, or any other personal belongings. You may leave all personal belongings in the cubbies provided in the lobby.
  • We do not offer any refunds. We will only credit the student’s account under necessary circumstances. The only exception to this policy is when we cancel a workshop or event due to attendance levels. Please see our website, staff, and your purchase receipt for our return policies.

Cancellation Policies

Classes and Clinics:

We kindly ask that you only pre-register for class if you know that you will attend and arrive on time. If for any reason you find that you cannot make it to class after you have signed up, you must call the studio, or remove yourself from the roster online. Failure to do so will forfeit your class credit.

Students are considered a no-show if they:

  • Sign up for a class online and do not show up without contacting the studio or removing themselves from the roster online at least 1 hour* before class begins.

*Our 6 a.m. class requires canceling prior to the close of registration, 8:30 p.m. the night before.

  • Arrive late, past the allotted tardy time.
    • When a receptionist is on duty, you may not attend the class if you arrive more than 7 minutes past the class start time.
    • When there is no receptionist on duty, you will not be able to enter the studio more than 3 minutes after the class start time.
Workshops and Private Sessions:

As you know, at Tribal Yoga, we offer private yoga sessions. During this time, our instructors are taking time aside specifically for you and your practice.  In order to honor this commitment of time to you, our cancellation policy is as follows. We understand that life can get busy and emergencies do come up. We will continue to take emergency situations into account.

Private Sessions:
All private yoga sessions will require prepayment and cancelations will be credited back to the student’s account with a fee removed at the following rates.

  • More than 24 hours in advance will be free of charge
  • 24-12 hours before the scheduled time will be charged at 50% of the session fee
  • less than 12 hours before scheduled time will be charged at a full session fee

If you need to cancel a private session, please call the studio at (757)915-6246 and leave a message or contact your instructor directly.

Workshops:
All workshops must be paid at the time of booking and cancellations will be credited back to the student’s account with a fee removed at the following rates.

  • More than 24 hours in advance will be free of charge
  • 24-12 hours before the scheduled time will be charged at 25% of the session fee
  • 12 -3 hours before the scheduled time will be charged at 50% of the session fee
  • 3 hours or less before the scheduled time will be charged the full session fee

Thank you so much for respecting our time, your practice and our community!

We look forward to seeing you on your mat!

This organization has the worst customers service I have experienced by far. The prices are extremely expensive not to mention the only customer service support you will receive is only via email. The company is not military friendly and creates stringent contracts to essentially scam you out of your hard earned money. After five months of payment to the subscription (without taking any courses). I attempted to cancel my subscription due to my current life style as military my schedule would not permit my attendance. The customer service representative only offer one month of credit instead of the one month reimbursement. I paid $475 in subscription services and the only restitution is a $95 credit to account that I don't have the liberty to use. This is the most expensive yoga studio within the Hampton Roads area and I choose it because of the travel convenience. I would advice anyone strongly against attending classes here because of the poor customer service, disregard, untimely responses (emails after midnight is the only correspondence I received), and dissatisfaction I assure you that you will experience. The contract is written that even if you attempt to cancel they will not respond to you in a reasonable time, remove the funds without just cause, and give you a credit to promote their financial greed and gain.

I joined Tribal Yoga two weeks ago and I haven’t felt better in years. I’ve tried to find a ‘workout’ that’s right for me, and this is it. Finally an exercise that I don’t hate!

I have been pleasantly surprised to sign up for Tribal Yoga. I have never ventured in this direction, but I'm learning a lot about yoga and my body. The facility is beautiful and the staff have been encouraging and informative. There are a lot of additional activities and seminars to attend. I have so much more to look forward to.

My friend invited me with her guest pass and it was a wonderfully relaxing first experience. I was a little lost on some of the poses, but I got the hang of it. I had never really considered yoga before, but after my first class I'm definitely looking forward to doing another one. The studio is very quiet, serene and comfy. There's all sorts of different styles of yoga offered!

I went to Tribal Yoga for the first time today. I attended a beginners workshop taught by the 300 hour yoga teacher new graduates and all proceeds went to Animal Aid shelter for dogs. I throughly enjoyed the workshop. The moment I walked in the door, everyone was friendly & helpful. The class was educational & the movement made me feel amazing. The instructors (Linda & Anja) were knowledgeable & calming. What a wonderful way to start my day! Thank you Tribal staff & students! Congratulations on earning your 300 hour certification! What an accomplishment!!!

Studio is large and very comfortable. I've only taken two classes here while on travel, both with the same instructor, and they were excellent. I look forward to going back next time I'm in the area.

If you like passive aggressive accusations via email concerning business conducted 9 days ago, this is the place for you. I paid for an all class pass and upon checking into my first session there was a misunderstanding that resulted in my taking part in the session under someone else's name unbeknownst to myself. I clearly stated my name and also what I prefer to be called. Poor check in processes and lack of proper verification protocols should not warrant one of being accused of willingly offering false information. I will not return nor do I recommend this establishment for anyone who appreciates quality business.

Tried the Trapeze Yoga Fundamentals class and I was SOLD Wish I could make the Open House but I will drop by and schedule a regular Thursday yoga class! Love this place!❤️
I came here for the fundamentals of being in the air workshop. This was my first time being in your studio and I loved it! Everyone was very nice. The teacher was amazing and very clear on instruction. They also have extra equipment available if you don't have anything (i.e. yoga mats, blankets etc) I would love to come back for another class. I live across the water but I will try my best to make it again during the week. Thank you guys for a great first experience.

I AM IN LOVE with Tribal Yoga & their entire tribe! I had never tried yoga before, but needed to get out of my shell, shake up my regular workout routine & maybe meet some new people while I was at it. Never could I have imagined how "at home" I'd feel with a group of strangers. The Tribal Yoga staff is incredible - the beauties at the front desk are so kind, welcoming and always greet clients by name. But the best part?? The instructors! Susan has been so patient with me, but pushing me a little farther each class. Khalilah is a beast & her class made me feel like one too! Kiley is great with the way she guides the class through a seamless instruction. Amber brings such a brightness to each class she teaches - such a vibrant personality and it shows even in her calmness. Liz has been incredibly descriptive in all of the 101 classes I have taken - really zeroing in on the fundamentals, and she guided me through my first (quite intense) Tribe 1 class ...somehow going slow enough for me but fast enough to still challenge the other experienced Yogis simultaneously. And lastly, I got to experience Joe teaching one his first Trapeze classes, and it was so nice to see him step into a new role, allowing the gift of his teachings to be spread in a different way. All of the instructors are encouraging, supportive and relentless in their yoga flows. Tribal Yoga gave me a place of peace, a haven to "just be" when I needed it the most. But more than anything, this place - this tribe , renewed the faith I'd lost in myself; and the faith I had lost in the amazing things my body was able to do. Tribal Yoga is my daily reminder. I am so thankful for stumbling upon this place. So if you're reading this, and you are feeling intimidated or "on the fence", COME! Let this Tribe welcome you the way they've welcomed me ...& find your strength again.

I started at Tribal Yoga as a member in January. I was super scared to try it as yoga was a pretty new thing for me. The teachers and the staff here helped me feel so comfortable with my practice and with myself. This place truly creates a loving, friendly atmosphere where pretty much everyone knows my name and has helped me with something in my journey. If you want a place to practice with people who really care about your individual journey this is the place to be.

I signed up with Tribal recently and I am new at yoga. The instructors have been a wonderful help in making sure I am doing the poses correctly, safely, and that I am comfortable. Yesterday I did a fundamentals in the air workshop for trapeze. It was a blast and the instructor really put my fears to rest. I am excited to try a trapeze class now!
Yesterday was my first visit and I felt very welcomed. The studio is clean and eveyone is willing to help instuctors as well as other students.
